NATIONAL CADET CORPS - NCC CAMP

  • 5 Gujarat Battalion, Surat Our NCC unit has organized Combine Annual Training Camp for the ‘B’ certificate National Cadet Corps, among them were 19 girls and 33 boys from Shree Vasishtha Vidyalaya. The Motto of the NCC is ‘Unity and Discipline’. In lining up to its motto, the NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of our nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of our country and molding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of our nation.
  • The aim of NCC is to develop character, commandership, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country; to create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation; to provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces. NCC in the college plays a credible role in shaping the character of students by instilling the values of patriotism, service, discipline and hard work. Training in NCC insists qualities like nationalism, patriotism, discipline, team spirit, leadership, self-confidence and promote overall personality development. NCC gives a tremendous opportunity for one’s betterment.
  • The camp started on July 12 and ended on July 21, 2022. The vibrant disciplined cadets took an active part and made the program successful by their unity and co-operation. During the camp the students practiced mass drill, firing with .22 riffle, army map reading, and field craft. In addition to that the cadets have organized a cultural program and even have attended sessions on health and hygiene which proved very informative and beneficial. The camp enriched the cadets by providing general knowledge on different topics and also allowed them to study more about rifle during the camp. Seven colleges of the Surat participated in the camp. Competitions were held on all the subjects they studied during the camp. In the inter-college competition four of our students secured different positions. Khushi H. Patel and Om D Solanki achieved 2nd place in firing, Ayush shah -1st place in cultural program by demonstrating different yoga postures, Kashyap Thakkar-was selected as a group leader and received the certificate for the same. Rest all cadets received certificate for successfully completing the camp.

NCC CERTIFICATE ‘B’ EXAMINATION RESULT

  • 37 among the 39 cadets who appeared for the exam have successfully completed their exam. Among those 37 were 11 boys and 26 girls. 2 students got ‘A’ grade, 29 students got ‘B’ grade and ‘C’ grade was secured by 6 students.
